Community & Ethics
The standards that make this network worth belonging to.
A referral network is only as strong as the trust behind it. Every member agrees to the same standard, whether they joined last week or have been with us since the beginning.
Confidentiality
Client details, family circumstances, and case specifics shared within the Collective's private spaces stay within those spaces. Members handle sensitive information — deaths, divorces, disputes, diagnoses — with the same discretion they'd expect for their own families.
Ethical Practice
Members are expected to hold current, valid credentials in their fields and to practice within the ethical standards of their own licensing bodies and jurisdictions. The Collective is a community of professionals, not a workaround for professional accountability.
Professional Conduct & Anti-Harassment
Every space we operate — the directory, the Slack workspace, the Facebook group, our events — is a harassment-free environment. Disrespect, discrimination, or predatory behavior toward another member is grounds for immediate review and possible removal.
Referral Integrity
Referrals are made because a member is genuinely the right fit for a family's needs — not because of reciprocity, personal favor, or convenience. We ask members to be honest about what they don't know and quick to loop in someone who does.
Moderated Community
Our online spaces are actively stewarded, not left unattended. Concerns are reviewed promptly, and the standards above are enforced consistently — because a self-policing honor system isn't enough when families' trust is on the line.
How We Uphold It
Every member is reviewed before joining — and held to the standard after.
- Applications are read, not rubber-stamped. We look at credentials, licensing, and professional standing before extending an invitation.
- Concerns have a clear path. Members can flag conduct or referral issues directly, and reports are handled with discretion.
- Standards apply equally. Core and Affiliate Members alike are held to the same code — tenure doesn't exempt anyone.
